April in France / أبريل في فرنسا

تنتقل إبريل، وهي فتاة إنجليزية تبلغ من العمر خمس سنوات، إلى باريس قبل فترة وجيزة من الحجر الصحي الأول. تشعر بالتعاسة والعزلة في شقتها الباريسية وترغب بشدة في العودة إلى لندن. ومع ذلك، عندما تخف القيود، يقودها والدها إلى لاباستيد دارماجناك، وهي قرية صغيرة من العصور الوسطى في جنوب غرب فرنسا حيث ورث جدها الأكبر منزله

April, une petite anglaise de 5 ans, s’installe à Paris juste avant le premier confinement. Elle se sent malheureuse, isolée dans son appartement parisien et souhaite désespérément retourner à Londres.

Mais lorsque les restrictions s’assouplissent, son père la conduit à Labastide d’Armagnac, un petit village médiéval du Sud-Ouest de la France où son arrière-grand-père leur a légué sa maison. April n’est pas beaucoup plus heureuse au début dans le village déserté mais le découvre petit à petit. Elle visite le cimetière où elle pense que les gens dorment. Sur la tombe de son arrière-grand-père, elle apporte des fleurs, lui parle et croit fermement qu’il pourrait éventuellement revenir pour être avec elle. Elle fera plusieurs vœux à cet effet, à l’église et aussi dans les montagnes des Pyrénées, en attendant une étoile filante, comme elle l’a vu dans Pinocchio. Entre-temps, elle rencontre certains amis de son arrière-grand-père. Avec eux, elle s’ouvrira au monde, découvrira son moi intérieur et à son tour, elle transformera à jamais les adultes qui l’entourent.

 

April, a 5-year-old English girl, moves to Paris just before the first lockdown. She feels miserable, isolated in her Parisian flat and desperately wants to go back to London.

However, when the restrictions ease, her father drives her to Labastide d’Armagnac, a small medieval village in the South-West of France where her great-grandfather bequeathed them his house. April is not much happier at first in the deserted village but slowly discovers it. She visits the cemetery where she thinks people are just asleep. On her great-grandfather’s grave she brings flowers, talks to him and strongly believes that he might eventually come back to be with her. She will make several wishes for this purpose, in church and also in the Pyrenees mountains, waiting for a falling star, as she has seen in Pinocchio. In the meantime, she meets some of her great-grandfather’s friends. With them she will open to the world, discover her inner self and in turn she will transform the adults around her forever.
