مجموعة من المراهقين الذكور يتم تجنيدهم من قبل والديهم في معسكر تدريبي لصقلهم ليصبحوا محتالين ولاعبين أو «تيغيريس». هذا النموذج الأصلي هو أعلى مثال للشخصية الذكورية في الثقافة الدومينيكية والكاريبية. ألبرتو هو المدرب الرئيسي لهذا المعسكر الذي يقرر أن وقت بابلو قد حان للانضمام إلى المجموعة. لكن بابلو، ابنه، هو تيغيريس في حد ذاته، دون علم ألبرتو، الذي تتعارض عملية بلوغه سن الرشد مع وجهات نظر والده الاستبدادية. هذا يقود بابلو إلى رحلة اكتشاف الذات.

Un groupe d’adolescents est recruté par leurs parents dans un camp d’entraînement pour devenir des escrocs, des joueurs, des « tigueres ». Cet archétype est la plus haute idéalisation du personnage masculin dans la culture dominicaine et caribéenne. Alberto est l’entraîneur principal de ce camp et décide que le moment est venu pour Pablo de rejoindre le groupe. Mais Pablo, son fils, est lui-même un Tiguère à part entière, à l’insu d’Alberto, dont le processus de passage à l’âge adulte entre en conflit avec les vues autoritaires de son père. Cela conduit Pablo à un voyage de découverte de soi.

A group of male adolescents are recruited by their parents into a bootcamp to be forged into hustlers, players, “tigueres”. This archetype is the highest idealization of the male character in Dominican and Caribbean culture. Alberto is the head coach of this camp who decides that Pablo’s time has come to join the group. But Pablo, his son, is a Tiguere in his own right, unbeknownst to Alberto, whose coming-of-age process clashes with his father’s authoritarian views. This leads Pablo on a journey of self-discovery.
